Axel's take: 9.2/10

A standout central boutique hotel, especially for comfort, cleanliness and helpful staff. a design-led 4-star boutique hotel on Warsaw’s Royal Route, scored for what it is.

Flaner is a design-led 4-star boutique hotel on Warsaw’s Royal Route, and we'd put it high on the shortlist for a city break. Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests consistently praise the exceptionally comfortable beds, spotless rooms and helpful staff. The Art Deco interiors give it character, while the walkable location makes sightseeing straightforward. Expedia lists a full renovation in September 2024, and recent reviews suggest the finish is holding up well.

The trade-offs are mostly practical: breakfast earns plenty of praise, but several guests find it expensive, and limited parking costs extra. Some guests have also reported losing access to the bar or restaurant during private events, so check ahead if those matter to you. We'd choose it for a comfortable sightseeing base, but look elsewhere if easy parking or guaranteed on-site evening dining is essential.

• Best for: couples on a Warsaw city break; sightseers exploring on foot; travelers prioritizing beds and cleanliness

• Watch out for: breakfast can feel expensive; limited paid parking; private events can restrict dining access

• Location: Royal Route setting, within walking distance of the Old Town and a few minutes from the metro.

• Rooms: Stylish interiors and unusually consistent praise for comfortable beds; room sizes vary.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor reviews.

• Service: Helpful reception and concierge staff dominate feedback, despite occasional complaints about event communication.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour gym; confirm dining access during private events.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra; parking is limited and chargeable, and pets incur a fee.
