#8 of 9 hotels in Wieden & the Naschmarkt by Axel's take. Wieden & the Naschmarkt is #2 of 10 places to stay in Vienna. The best hotels in Wieden & the Naschmarkt, ranked · Where to stay in Vienna

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong sightseeing base with refreshed rooms and genuinely helpful staff. A renovated, family-run 4-star beside Vienna’s Naschmarkt, scored for what it is.

Drei Kronen is a family-run 4-star beside the Naschmarkt, rather than the older 3-star listing still circulating. It’s a strong pick for exploring Vienna on foot, with Karlsplatz transport nearby. The hotel says it was completely renovated in 2025 and is now fully air-conditioned. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the location, helpful staff and cleanliness; breakfast also earns plenty of positive mentions. We’d choose it for a comfortable city break with some Viennese character.

The main compromise is space: entry-level doubles are compact, and some guests mention small showers. One recent Expedia guest also found breakfast seating insufficient at busy times. Parking is in a nearby public garage, not on site, and breakfast inclusion depends on your booking. We'd skip the smallest rooms for a longer stay or if generous space matters.

  • Best for: First-time Vienna sightseers; Couples on a city break; Travelers who like markets and museums

  • Watch out for: Compact entry-level rooms and some small showers; Limited breakfast seating at busy times; Paid parking in a nearby public garage

  • Location: Beside Naschmarkt, with Karlsplatz metro and major central sights within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Renovated in 2025 with air conditioning; small doubles are 16 m², with larger categories available.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Booking.com and Expedia, despite occasional housekeeping complaints.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength; reception operates around the clock.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, buffet breakfast and a lift; coffee machines and fridges depend on room category.

  • Fees and surprises: Check whether breakfast is included; nearby garage parking and airport transfers cost extra.
