#7 of 9 hotels in Wieden & the Naschmarkt by Axel's take. Wieden & the Naschmarkt is #2 of 10 places to stay in Vienna. The best hotels in Wieden & the Naschmarkt, ranked · Where to stay in Vienna

Axel's take: 8.4/10

A clean, convenient Vienna base, with noise and cooling caveats. A straightforward 3-star near Vienna’s main station, scored for what it is.

This straightforward 3-star is a strong pick for exploring Vienna by public transport, especially if you’re arriving by train. Hauptbahnhof is roughly seven to ten minutes away on foot, and the U1 metro is closer still. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the cleanliness, helpful reception staff and comfortable rooms, often describing them as spacious. The breakfast buffet gets plenty of positive mentions, and there’s a garden terrace for sitting outside.

The trade-offs are mostly about sleep and expectations. Several recent guests report sound carrying between rooms or from the street, while summer reviews flag weak or faulty air-conditioning in some rooms. Breakfast and parking cost extra. We’d choose it for a practical city break rather than hotel atmosphere; light sleepers and travelers expecting full-service Sheraton comforts should look elsewhere.

  • Best for: Travelers arriving by train; Sightseers using public transport; Families needing triple rooms

  • Watch out for: Street and neighboring-room noise; Uneven air-conditioning performance; Breakfast and parking cost extra

  • Location: In Wieden, a short walk from Hauptbahnhof, the U1 metro and Belvedere.

  • Rooms: Simple, comfortable rooms with several larger options; sound insulation and cooling draw some complaints.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Reception staff are widely praised for being friendly, helpful and accommodating.

  • Amenities: Breakfast restaurant, garden terrace, Wi-Fi and 24-hour reception; not a full-service luxury hotel.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast is not automatically included; on-site parking and pets carry additional charges.
