#3 of 6 hotels in Mestre by Axel's take. Mestre is #8 of 8 places to stay in Venice. The best hotels in Mestre, ranked · Where to stay in Venice

Axel's take: 8.7/10

A comfortable mainland base that trades Venetian atmosphere for easy rail access. a modern 4-star business-style hotel beside Mestre station, scored for what it is.

This modern 4-star in mainland Mestre is a strong pick if you want comfortable rooms and straightforward access to Venice without sleeping on the island. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, helpful staff and comfortable rooms; Expedia feedback is similarly strong. Mestre station is a few minutes’ walk away, followed by roughly 10–15 minutes on the train to Venezia Santa Lucia. It delivers well as a practical city-break base, with a restaurant, bar and gym.

The compromise is the setting: this is a station-area hotel, not somewhere to step outside into canalside Venice. Some guests hear passing trains, although others find the soundproofing effective; light sleepers should request a room away from the tracks. Breakfast earns mixed rather than uniformly glowing feedback. We'd skip it for a romantic, walk-everywhere Venetian stay, but choose it for comfort and transport convenience.

  • Best for: Venice visitors happy to commute; Rail travelers; Business travelers

  • Watch out for: Mainland location, not historic Venice; Train noise in some rooms; Uneven breakfast feedback

  • Location: A short walk to Mestre station; convenient for Venice trains, but without the island's atmosphere.

  • Rooms: Modern, comfortable rooms with good showers; noise sensitivity matters when choosing the outlook.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across guest ratings, despite occasional individual complaints.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff receive repeated praise across booking and review sites.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, lounge bar, gym and free Wi-Fi; breakfast inclusion depends on the booking.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax is collected at the property; breakfast and pets can carry additional charges.
