#1 of 9 hotels in Vera by Axel's take. Vera is #3 of 7 places to stay in Tbilisi. The best hotels in Vera, ranked · Where to stay in Tbilisi

Axel's take: 8.9/10

Come for the generous breakfasts and personal welcome, but be ready for hills and stairs. a small, family-run 3-star uphill from Rustaveli Avenue, scored for what it is.

Lowell is a small, family-run 3-star uphill from Rustaveli Avenue, and it's a strong pick for travelers who value hospitality over polished facilities. Booking.com and Agoda guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and unusually generous homemade breakfasts. The consistently strong ratings feel earned by those basics: this is good value with a personal touch, rather than a full-service hotel.

The main compromise is access. The walk back is short but steep, and there's no elevator; recent Agoda guests confirm staff help with luggage. Rooms vary in size, so check the category rather than assuming every room is spacious. A few guests also mention bathroom drain odors, though cleanliness feedback remains overwhelmingly positive. We'd skip it if step-free access or uniform, modern rooms matter more than warmth and breakfast.

  • Best for: value-minded couples; independent city explorers; travelers who enjoy family-run hotels

  • Watch out for: steep uphill approach; no elevator; occasional bathroom drain odors

  • Location: Near Rustaveli Avenue and the metro, with a steep return walk.

  • Rooms: Simple, individually varying rooms; confirm size and floor before booking.

  • Cleanliness: Strong praise across guest reviews, despite occasional bathroom odor reports.

  • Service: Personal, accommodating hosts are a consistent highlight.

  • Amenities: Generous breakfast, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception and limited free parking.

  • Fees and surprises: Airport transfers, pets and extra beds carry charges; confirm parking availability.
