Axel's take: 8.5/10

Warm service and good value, provided you’re happy taking taxis. a small, homey mid-range hotel in residential Saburtalo, scored for what it is.

Alliance is a small, homey mid-range hotel in Saburtalo, better approached as a comfortable neighborhood base than a polished four-star. It’s a strong pick for travelers who prioritize helpful staff, comfortable rooms and value over a central address. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcome and cleanliness; recent Expedia feedback also highlights breakfast and city views. Free parking is another practical plus.

The main compromise is the hillside location: sightseeing generally means taxis, and the walk to the metro can feel inconvenient. Breakfast earns mostly positive feedback, though some guests find it ordinary. Recent Trip.com reviews are largely favorable, with isolated complaints about linen cleanliness and cooling in a family room. We’d skip it for an Old Town walking holiday or if the four-star listing makes you expect consistently upscale rooms and service.

  • Best for: value-minded travelers comfortable using taxis; visitors with a car; travelers preferring a residential base

  • Watch out for: hillside location away from Old Town; inconvenient walk to the metro; modest rather than upscale four-star experience

  • Location: Residential Saburtalo; taxis are more practical than walking for central sightseeing.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable and reasonably spacious; some rooms have balconies and city views.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback, with isolated recent complaints about bedding and towels.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent strength across review sites.

  • Amenities: Restaurant, terrace, free Wi-Fi and parking; booking sites also list sauna and massage services.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion depends on the booking; airport transfers cost extra.
