Hotels in TacomaA practical 3-star hotel off I-5 in south Tacoma
8.1/10
Clean rooms and standout staff make this a solid driving base, with noise caveats.
Holiday Inn Tacoma Mall is a practical 3-star off I-5, better suited to travelers with a car than a downtown sightseeing weekend. It's a strong pick for straightforward comfort: Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and helpful staff, while Tripadvisor reviews reinforce the service strength. Free parking, an indoor pool, a gym and Secret Burger Kitchen give it more useful extras than a basic overnight stop.
The main compromise is sleep. Guests across Tripadvisor and Hotels.com mention road noise, loud vehicles and, in some rooms, hallway noise; request a room away from the street and elevators. The pool is in a separate building, breakfast isn't automatically included, and a refundable deposit is required. We'd skip it if quiet nights or walking to downtown attractions are priorities.
