Strong waterfront luxury, but check the view before committing. a modern 5-star waterfront hotel beside ICC Sydney, scored for what it is.

Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour is a modern 5-star hotel beside ICC Sydney, and a strong pick for conference trips or a comfortable waterfront weekend. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the clean rooms, comfort and helpful staff; Tripadvisor adds enthusiastic reports about Club Millésime service. The infinity pool, spa and French-inspired Atelier restaurant give it substance beyond the address.

The main reservation is the neighbouring Harbourside redevelopment. The hotel confirms daytime construction, while recent Tripadvisor guests report obstructed views in some rooms: don't assume a harbour-view label guarantees an uninterrupted panorama. Service also occasionally loses its luxury polish, with check-in waits and crowded lounge sessions reported. We'd choose it for comfort and convenience, but skip it if guaranteed views or a peaceful poolside escape are the whole point.

• Best for: ICC Sydney conference travelers; Couples on waterfront weekends; Travelers prioritizing comfort and walkability

• Watch out for: Harbourside construction and obstructed views; Occasional check-in and lounge delays; Paid valet parking

• Location: Beside ICC Sydney, with Convention Centre light rail close by and waterfront dining within walking distance.

• Rooms: Comfort is a consistent strength; confirm the specific outlook rather than relying on the room category.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall, supported by high Booking.com cleanliness scores and repeated Expedia praise.

• Service: Usually warm and helpful, though some guests report queues and uneven service during busy periods.

• Amenities: Outdoor infinity pool, spa, gym, Atelier restaurant and bars; Club Millésime requires an eligible booking.

• Fees and surprises: Valet parking costs extra; check breakfast inclusion and current Harbourside construction impacts before booking.
