Hotels in Steamboat SpringsAn upscale ski-in/ski-out vacation-ownership resort with condo-style villas
8.3/10
A strong slopeside family pick, but current refurbishment makes quiet stays less certain.
Sheraton Steamboat is an upscale vacation-ownership resort rather than a conventional luxury hotel, and we'd choose it for easy mountain access and practical villa living. The gondolas are steps away, with ski rentals and storage downstairs. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable accommodations and helpful staff. Many villas add kitchens and laundry, making this a strong family base rather than somewhere you book for pampering.
The immediate catch is villa refurbishment: the resort confirms daytime construction noise from September 7 through November 25, 2026, with other amenities expected to remain open. Reviews differ on how fresh individual units feel, so check your exact room category. Parking costs extra, housekeeping is every other day, and checkout is at 10 a.m. We'd skip it during the works if daytime quiet matters, or choose elsewhere for full-service luxury.

Best for: Families wanting kitchen and laundry facilities; Skiers prioritizing gondola access; Groups wanting condo-style space
Watch out for: Daytime villa refurbishment through November 25, 2026; Paid parking and 10 a.m. checkout; Room condition varies by unit
Location: Excellent ski-base access, with gondolas, rentals and restaurants close by; not downtown.
Rooms: Comfortable villa layouts; kitchen and laundry facilities vary by category, and freshness gets mixed reports.
Cleanliness: Recent guest feedback is predominantly positive; Marriott lists every-other-day housekeeping.
Service: Helpful, friendly staff earn repeated praise across Tripadvisor and Expedia.
Amenities: Heated outdoor pool, hot tubs, gym, spa and seasonal dining; amenities are expected to stay open during refurbishment.
Fees and surprises: No resort fee is listed by the operator; parking is extra, checkout is early, and Hotels.com also flags neighboring construction.
