#3 of 3 hotels in Vilano Beach by Axel's take. Vilano Beach is #5 of 6 places to stay in St. Augustine. The best hotels in Vilano Beach, ranked · Where to stay in St. Augustine

Axel's take: 7.9/10

A practical beach base with friendly staff, but room upkeep can be uneven. a simple, limited-service chain hotel steps from Vilano Beach, scored for what it is.

This simple, limited-service Hampton is a good pick for a beach-first St. Augustine trip. The sand is a short walk away, restaurants and Publix are nearby, and the historic district is roughly ten minutes away by car. Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise friendly staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms. Included hot breakfast, an outdoor pool and complimentary bike rentals make it a practical base rather than a resort.

The hesitation is consistency: alongside plenty of positive stays, Tripadvisor guests repeatedly mention damp or musty rooms, air-conditioning problems and missed housekeeping details. Parking costs extra, and a balcony does not automatically mean an ocean view. Spring 2026 guests also reported construction next door; check whether it still affects your dates. We'd skip it for polished interiors or sightseeing entirely on foot.

Best for: families prioritizing beach time; couples wanting a relaxed coastal base; travelers who appreciate included breakfast
Watch out for: musty rooms and uneven upkeep; paid parking and room-dependent views; nearby construction reported in spring 2026
Location: Short walk to the beach, restaurants and Publix; historic downtown is a drive away.
Rooms: Beds earn praise, but recurring dampness and air-conditioning complaints weaken consistency; confirm the view category.
Cleanliness: Mostly positive feedback, with repeated exceptions involving carpets, odors and housekeeping follow-through.
Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength; housekeeping responses are less consistent.
Amenities: Included hot breakfast and Wi-Fi, outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness room and complimentary bike rentals.
Fees and surprises: Hilton confirms paid self-parking and pet fees; spring 2026 guests reported neighboring construction, with its current status unconfirmed.
