A good beach-and-spa base, let down by uneven service and upkeep. A modern 4-star beach-and-spa hotel outside Split’s old town, scored for what it is.

Amphora is a modern 4-star overlooking Žnjan beach, better suited to seaside downtime than doorstep sightseeing. We'd pick it for the indoor and outdoor pools, generous breakfast and sea-view balconies. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the spa and comfortable rooms, while Booking.com’s overall rating remains very good. The beachfront redevelopment opened in June 2025, so older accounts of an inaccessible beach no longer tell the whole story.

The weak spot is consistency: recent guests describe patchy housekeeping, maintenance lapses and reception service ranging from helpful to brusque. Dinner gets less dependable praise than breakfast. An April 2026 Tripadvisor guest also reported construction south of the hotel; confirm its status before booking. Budget for transport into the old town, paid garage parking and beach loungers.
