Axel's take: 8.1/10

Come for the reef and beach, but check construction before committing. An established five-star beachfront resort with all-inclusive options, scored for what it is.

Baron Resort is an established five-star beachfront resort in Ras Nosrani, strongest for snorkeling and relaxed beach holidays rather than cutting-edge luxury. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, helpful staff and the beach; Tripadvisor reviews reinforce the appeal of the reef and carefully maintained grounds. We'd shortlist it for couples and families who care more about the sea than contemporary interiors.

The qualifications matter at this level: older rooms look tired, and restaurant service and food draw mixed reports alongside plenty of praise. Recent Tripadvisor guests also report substantial building work beside one wing, with disruption varying by room. Baron says its new adults-only Lagoon Wing is scheduled for December 2026, so don't assume advertised swim-up accommodation is already available. Confirm construction exposure and exactly which restaurants and drinks your package includes. We'd skip it for guaranteed quiet or consistently polished luxury.

Best for: Snorkelers and reef enthusiasts; Couples seeking beach-focused holidays; Families prioritizing beach and pools
Watch out for: Construction exposure varies by room; Dated interiors in older rooms; Uneven dining and service
Location: Beachfront in Ras Nosrani; the reef and sandy beach are the main reasons to choose it.
Rooms: Generally comfortable and clean, but older interiors and electrical fittings attract criticism.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor, especially the grounds and beach.
Service: Many guests praise individual staff; slower restaurant service and reception handling recur in complaints.
Amenities: Pools, spa, fitness center, watersports and multiple restaurants; Lagoon Wing opening is advertised for December 2026.
Fees and surprises: Check package inclusions and construction-facing rooms; new-wing facilities should not be assumed available yet.
