Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong beach-first choice, provided you can overlook the ageing rooms. a traditional 4-star all-inclusive resort above a sandy beach, scored for what it is.

Albatros Sharm is a traditional 4-star all-inclusive whose strongest assets are its sandy beach, cliff-top views and welcoming staff—not its interiors. We'd pick it for a relaxed, good-value Red Sea holiday rather than polished surroundings. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the housekeeping, gardens and helpful teams, and the Old Market is within walking distance. Pools, a kids' club and beach elevators make it a practical family option.

The main compromise is the room stock: recent Tripadvisor guests still describe tired furniture and bathrooms, echoed by a recent Expedia complaint. Food earns plenty of praise on Booking.com, but Expedia's much smaller review sample is markedly less enthusiastic. Expect resort buffets rather than a culinary highlight. We'd skip it if contemporary rooms or consistently impressive dining are priorities; travelers with limited mobility should confirm the exact room-to-beach route before booking.

Best for: value-minded beach vacationers; families wanting all-inclusive convenience; couples prioritizing views over interiors
Watch out for: dated furniture and bathrooms; mixed feedback on buffet food; cliff-top layout with elevators or stairs to the beach
Location: Above Sharm El Maya Bay, with a sandy beach below and the Old Market within walking distance.
Rooms: Generally described as clean and comfortable, but recurring reports of dated furniture and bathrooms temper expectations.
Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and Tripadvisor, despite occasional contrary reports.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff attract substantial praise; Expedia's very small sample is less positive.
Amenities: The official site lists pools, beach elevators, a gym, spa, kids' club and free Wi-Fi.
Fees and surprises: All-inclusive exclusions can apply; confirm paid extras and any incidental deposit before arrival.
