Axel's take: 8.0/10

A solid Scottsdale base, with renovated villas its strongest draw. a full-service 4-star Scottsdale resort with separate two-bedroom villas, scored for what it is.

This full-service 4-star resort is a strong pick for a Scottsdale stay built around pool time, dining and outings by car. The renovation announced complete in March 2026 makes the two-bedroom villas especially appealing: full kitchens, generous living space and a pool reserved for villa guests. Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, while Booking.com scores location and comfort particularly well. We'd favor it for families and small groups over travelers seeking a sprawling luxury resort.

The main hotel earns more mixed comments about room condition, and occasional housekeeping lapses suggest the refresh hasn't made every stay equally polished. It's convenient for Scottsdale's attractions, but not an Old Town doorstep location. Check the resort charge carefully: Expedia lists one despite older descriptions advertising none. We'd skip it if seamless luxury or a walk-everywhere stay is essential.

• Best for: families wanting villa space and kitchens; small groups planning pool time; travelers exploring Scottsdale by car

• Watch out for: resort charge despite older no-fee descriptions; mixed feedback on main-hotel room condition; not in walkable Old Town

• Location: Convenient Scottsdale Road base near restaurants; Old Town and Fashion Square are a short drive away.

• Rooms: Renovated two-bedroom villas stand out; main-hotel room feedback is less consistent.

• Cleanliness: Generally well rated, with occasional housekeeping-detail complaints rather than a dominant cleanliness problem.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across guest-review sites.

• Amenities: Main pool, hot tub, children's wading pool, updated gym and dining; a separate pool serves villa guests.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a nightly resort charge and included self-parking; villa continental breakfast is not a hotel-wide inclusion.
