Axel's take: 6.6/10

Useful kitchens and friendly staff, but aging rooms keep this a practical compromise. a basic 2-star extended-stay hotel with full kitchens, scored for what it is.

This basic 2-star extended-stay hotel makes sense if cooking and keeping costs down matter more than polished surroundings. Full kitchens, guest laundry and free parking are useful for longer visits, while an outdoor pool adds something beyond the essentials. Recent Expedia and Hotels.com guests often praise the friendly staff, spacious rooms and nearby shops and restaurants. We'd consider it for a practical stay with a car.

The compromise is condition and consistency. Guests still describe aging rooms and stale smells, and overall ratings on Booking.com and Tripadvisor are noticeably weaker than the recent positive reviews suggest. Breakfast is grab-and-go, not a full meal, and housekeeping is limited rather than daily. We'd skip it for a special occasion or if fresh interiors and dependable hotel-style service are priorities.

• Best for: budget-conscious longer stays; travelers who want to cook; pet owners traveling by car

• Watch out for: aging rooms and occasional stale smells; limited housekeeping; light grab-and-go breakfast

• Location: Nearby shops and restaurants are convenient; a car helps for exploring Scottsdale.

• Rooms: Spacious studios have full kitchens and sofa beds, but furnishings and condition show their age.

• Cleanliness: Recent guests often report clean rooms, though broader cleanliness ratings remain middling.

• Service: Recent reviews frequently praise friendly, helpful staff; overall service ratings are more mixed.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, fitness center, guest laundry, grills, free Wi-Fi and grab-and-go breakfast.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is free; pets and extra housekeeping cost more, and an incidental deposit may apply.
