Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong Providencia base with comfortable rooms, helpful staff and a rooftop worth using. An upscale, design-led city hotel in Providencia, scored for what it is.

Solace is an upscale, design-led city hotel in Providencia, and a strong pick for travelers who want comfort without full luxury formality. Booking.com, Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the spacious rooms, comfortable beds, cleanliness and helpful staff. Restaurants and Pedro de Valdivia metro are close by, while the rooftop bar adds city and mountain views. Complimentary minibar drinks and coffee are welcome extras.

The trade-offs are mostly practical: the outdoor pool is seasonal and unheated, and several recent guests describe worn bathroom fittings or small maintenance faults, rather than a widespread cleanliness problem. A May 2026 Tripadvisor guest also reported nearby Metro works blocking one end of the street; confirm your pickup point before arranging transfers. We'd skip it if year-round swimming or immaculate luxury finishes matter more than location and everyday comfort.

• Best for: Couples exploring Santiago; Business travelers; Travelers wanting restaurants and metro nearby

• Watch out for: Seasonal, unheated outdoor pool; Some bathroom wear and maintenance niggles; Metro works reported affecting vehicle access

• Location: Providencia restaurants and Pedro de Valdivia metro are nearby; this is not a historic-center address.

• Rooms: Spacious rooms and comfortable beds draw consistent praise; lower-floor views can disappoint.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across sites, including Booking.com's strong cleanliness rating.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are one of the most consistent positives in recent reviews.

• Amenities: Rooftop bar, seasonal pool, small gym, restaurant and complimentary bicycles; breakfast is generally well liked.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion; airport transfers cost extra, parking is limited, and tax-exemption documentation matters.
