Axel's take: 8.3/10

A comfortable, well-located business hotel, though not every room feels five-star. a five-star business hotel opposite Costanera Center, scored for what it is.

NH Collection Plaza Santiago is a five-star business hotel whose strongest selling point is everyday convenience: Costanera Center opposite, restaurants nearby and Tobalaba metro within walking distance. We'd pick it for spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff rather than cutting-edge luxury. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the service, cleanliness and breakfast; higher-floor views add to the appeal.

The main reservation is room condition: some guests still describe dated furniture and bathrooms, so don't assume the polished lobby guarantees an equally fresh room. Pool plans also need checking: Expedia lists an annual December 23–February 2 closure, while the official site advertises regular opening hours. Parking and airport transfers cost extra. It's a strong business or shopping base; we'd skip it for consistently contemporary luxury or a doorstep location in the historic center.

• Best for: business travelers; shopping-focused city breaks; travelers wanting spacious rooms

• Watch out for: some dated rooms and bathrooms; conflicting pool availability information; historic center requires transport

• Location: Opposite Costanera Center, with restaurants and Tobalaba metro a short walk away.

• Rooms: Space, beds and views win praise; some recent guests find furnishings and bathrooms dated.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are a recurring strength in recent reviews.

• Amenities: Heated indoor pool, gym, restaurant and Wi-Fi; confirm pool availability before booking.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and airport transfers carry charges; Expedia lists a December 23–February 2 seasonal pool closure.
