Hotels in San Miguel de AllendeAn upscale apartment-and-villa complex outside the historic center
7.8/10
A good family base for space and privacy, with uneven service and maintenance.
Krystal Grand is an upscale apartment-and-villa complex, not a conventional downtown hotel. Its two- and four-bedroom residences, kitchens and generous living spaces make it a strong pick for families or friends sharing. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the spacious accommodation, comfortable beds and generally good cleanliness. Pools, sports courts and gardens add appeal beyond sightseeing; the hotel also advertises free parking and transportation downtown.
The trade-off is consistency. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor reviews describe uneven staff responses and recurring maintenance issues, including plumbing problems. Some guests report cold pool water despite the hotel's heated-pool claim, so confirm heating and availability before booking a swimming-focused stay. The historic center is a drive away. We'd skip it for a walk-everywhere city break or if polished, reliably responsive service matters more than extra space.
