Hotels in San Juana large, upscale beachfront resort outside Old San Juan
7.9/10
Pick it for beach-and-pool days, not polished rooms or doorstep nightlife.
Caribe Hilton is a large, upscale beachfront resort whose strongest selling points are outside the room: a sheltered beach, oceanfront pools and tropical grounds. It’s a good pick for families and couples who want resort downtime with trips into San Juan. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise friendly staff, comfortable accommodations and the pool areas; Booking.com’s ratings also put location and staff ahead of value.
The trade-off is uneven polish. Dated rooms and maintenance shortcomings recur across Expedia and Tripadvisor, although many recent guests still describe clean, enjoyable stays. Dining is convenient but often considered expensive, and the resort fee and paid parking add to the bill. The setting is less walkable for restaurants and nightlife than central Condado. We’d skip it if fresh interiors, consistently slick service or exploring mostly on foot are priorities.

Axel is a travel agent that books hotels at private rates you will not find on the public booking sites. It is free to use: a free account takes just an email address. This page lists every stay Axel has priced for Caribe Hilton in San Juan in the last 7 days, each beside the public rate seen for the same dates. They are examples, not this person's dates. Sign up free to book one, or tell Axel your own dates and it checks live rooms and rates at Caribe Hilton for them.
Pick it for beach-and-pool days, not polished rooms or doorstep nightlife. a large, upscale beachfront resort outside Old San Juan, scored for what it is.
Best for: families wanting beach and pool time; couples mixing resort days with sightseeing; travelers who prioritize grounds over interiors
Watch out for: dated rooms and uneven maintenance; resort fee and paid parking; limited doorstep nightlife
Location: Beachfront between Old San Juan and Condado, rather than in either neighborhood’s lively center.
Rooms: Comfort and views earn praise, but dated furnishings and maintenance issues recur.
Cleanliness: Generally positive recent feedback, with some housekeeping lapses and musty-room reports.
Service: Friendly staff are a recurring strength; problem resolution is less consistent.
Amenities: Sheltered beach, oceanfront pools, spa, gym, tennis and multiple dining options.
Fees and surprises: Resort fee, paid parking and an incidental deposit; Hilton also lists a post-checkout luggage-storage charge.
