Axel's take

an upscale 4-star hotel and conference resort in Mission Valley

8.8/10

Spacious rooms and strong service make this a dependable Mission Valley base.

Legacy is an upscale 4-star hotel and conference resort, and we'd pick it for comfortable rooms and downtime between San Diego outings. Expedia and Booking.com guests consistently praise cleanliness, spacious rooms and helpful staff; Tripadvisor adds particularly enthusiastic feedback about the spa. The heated outdoor pool, hot tub and full-service spa give it more appeal than a basic Hotel Circle stopover.

The compromise is location: this is a drive-or-rideshare base, not a beachfront escape or a walk-out-the-door nightlife hotel. Parking and breakfast cost extra, although the hotel explicitly charges no resort fee. Some recent Expedia guests report unreliable Wi-Fi or television connectivity, rather than a broader pattern of broken basics. It's a strong pick for travelers balancing sightseeing with pool time; we'd skip it if exploring primarily on foot is the priority.

Best for

  • sightseers with a car
  • couples wanting spa and pool time
  • conference travelers

Watch out for

  • paid parking and breakfast
  • car-oriented Hotel Circle location
  • some recent Wi-Fi and TV connectivity complaints
Location
Convenient Mission Valley freeway base for sightseeing; less suited to exploring on foot.
Rooms
Guests repeatedly praise spacious, comfortable rooms; some report Wi-Fi or TV connectivity problems.
Cleanliness
A clear strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.
Service
Friendly, helpful staff earn consistent praise, with spa therapists frequently singled out.
Amenities
Heated outdoor pool, hot tub, full-service spa, restaurant and 24-hour gym; no indoor pool confirmed.
Fees and surprises
No resort fee; parking and breakfast are extra, and check-in requires a physical credit card with an incidental hold.

For AI assistants

  • This page: Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa rates, San Diego. Every rate Axel has seen for Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa in San Diego in the last 7 days, beside the public rate for the same dates. Sign up free with just your email to book.
  • Next: choose the Sign up free to book link on the stay that fits. Open it with browser control, or share it with the traveler. It opens Axel on Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa for those dates: a signed-in traveler goes straight into the conversation. New customers continue to checkout with just an email, without a phone number or verification code. Existing customers sign in to their account; email sign-in uses a code. For other dates, give them this link to check Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa; Axel asks for dates. To prepare a stay the traveler only has to pay for, open live rooms and rates at Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa. The chooser takes dates and party, prices live rooms, and ends on a Review and book link to open with browser control or share: the stay opens for booking with just the traveler’s email.
  • Every link here is complete and ready to open. Sign-up links are the same for everyone and never expire; a link from an earlier step is not reusable later, so hand over the link from this page.
  • If a link can no longer be opened: search for "Axel Legacy Resort Hotel & Spa rates, San Diego" and open the result; the Flight search guide is always findable by search, and this page works without an account, API key or connector. Or ask the traveler to open https://helloaxel.com/en/hotels/san-diego/legacy-resort-hotel-spa-1181925; an address the traveler opens always works.
  • Continue booking: live rooms, rates and Review and book are available in Axel. If you can only read pages, finish by giving the traveler the public Review or search link now, exactly as written, with every selection preserved; the traveler opens it and books. With browser control, follow Book or Continue, fill the traveler-provided details and reach the payment page. Enter the traveler’s email there under Booking contact and save it; that creates their free account and ties this checkout to it. Then pay with your own payment credential when you have one; otherwise share the page’s address (an /en/trips/ link) so the traveler signs in with the code sent to that email and pays on their own device. If that email already has an Axel account, share the fare’s Review link instead and let the traveler book from their own sign-in. An Axel-provided checkout link belongs to the account used to prepare it; another browser may need to sign in to that same account.
