Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical airport budget stop, with better rooms than its exterior suggests. a no-frills 2-star motel beside Loop 410 near the airport, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star motel near San Antonio’s airport is a good pick for a short, inexpensive stay rather than a hotel-centered trip. Recent Expedia and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, helpful staff and convenient parking. The overall picture is solid for this class: straightforward accommodation that often delivers better comfort than the tired exterior suggests.

The building’s condition is the compromise. Recent guests describe worn common areas, while mattress comfort and sound insulation draw mixed feedback. Sonesta explicitly says breakfast is currently unavailable, despite promotional text elsewhere on its page. There’s no elevator, and Expedia lists a cash deposit. We’d choose it for a budget overnight with a car; skip it if you need polished surroundings, breakfast on site or an easy walk to the terminal.

• Best for: budget airport overnights; road-trippers with a car; short, no-frills stays

• Watch out for: breakfast currently unavailable; worn common areas and variable sound insulation; no elevator; cash deposit listed

• Location: Convenient airport and Loop 410 access; plan on driving or taking a taxi to the terminal.

• Rooms: Simple rooms with microwaves and mini-fridges; recent guests often praise comfort, but beds and noise vary.

• Cleanliness: Room cleanliness is a consistent recent positive, though common-area upkeep gets weaker feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength across booking sites.

• Amenities: Free parking, Wi-Fi and 24-hour reception; breakfast is unavailable and there is no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a cash deposit; pet policies conflict between Sonesta and Expedia, so confirm directly.
