Hotels in Romea renovated 4-star boutique hotel beside the Vatican Museums
8.7/10
A strong Vatican base with welcoming staff, compact rooms and worthwhile wellness extras.
The Spring House is a renovated 4-star boutique hotel that makes most sense for a Vatican-focused trip. We'd pick it for dependable comfort rather than luxury: recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, cleanliness and breakfast. The completed redesign adds character, while the patio offers somewhere pleasant to pause between outings.
The main compromises are space and location. Several guests describe compact rooms, and this isn't the most convenient base if your days revolve around Trevi and the Colosseum. Cipro metro helps. A June 2026 guest reported construction noise at the end of the street; ask whether that work continues before choosing a street-facing room. We'd skip it if generous room space or historic-center doorstep access matters most.
