Use this page-supplied URL; do not invent or look up internal IDs. Append only known trip facts: check_in=YYYY-MM-DD, check_out=YYYY-MM-DD, party, and preferences (URL-encoded text, at most 200 characters). Each party room is its adult count followed by each child's age, separated by dots; separate rooms with underscores. Example: party=2.7_1.0.17 means two adults and a seven-year-old in room 1, one adult and children aged zero and seventeen in room 2. Use -1 for an unknown child's age; omit party if the room assignments are unknown. Never guess dates, ages or room assignments. Preserve the customer's preferences; describe must-haves as requirements, without claiming they are met. Omit unknown fields; Axel asks for missing stay details. Prefer a supplied selected-stay link if it matches the latest request. Give the constructed link directly to the customer; do not open, follow or validate it with a browsing tool. A browsing-tool refusal does not mean the customer link is broken. Clicking opens this hotel’s details and rooms for the stay. Email is needed only at booking. No contact or payment information belongs in the URL.

Axel's take: 7.9/10

A comfortable port-district base, with friendly staff but uneven maintenance and reception. a practical 4-star business hotel in Rio’s port district, scored for what it is.

Novotel RJ Porto Atlântico is a practical 4-star business hotel, better suited to port-area plans than a beach holiday. It’s a good pick for comfortable rooms, bay views and easy access to the VLT tram. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff, cleanliness and breakfast; the outdoor pool adds somewhere to unwind.

The address is the biggest compromise: several guests find the surrounding streets unappealing, so we’d choose elsewhere for leisurely neighborhood wandering. Recent verified Accor reviews also repeatedly flag slow reception and shower-temperature or maintenance problems, despite generally comfortable rooms. That makes this a useful, rather than consistently polished, mid-range choice. We’d skip it for a beach-focused first visit or if dependable, efficient service matters most.

  • Best for: business travelers with port-area plans; sightseers comfortable using the VLT; short city stays

  • Watch out for: unappealing surroundings for casual wandering; reception delays; recurring shower and maintenance complaints

  • Location: Near Pereira Reis VLT stop; useful for the port district, less appealing for neighborhood strolling.

  • Rooms: Generally comfortable, with bay views in some rooms; recent guests report inconsistent shower temperatures and upkeep.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly positive across recent guest feedback, supported by strong cleanliness ratings on Expedia and Tripadvisor.

  • Service: Warm staff earn frequent praise, but recent Accor reviews repeatedly describe slow check-in and check-out.

  • Amenities: Unheated outdoor pool, fitness center, sauna, restaurant and bar; breakfast is a frequently praised extra.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and pets cost extra; check breakfast inclusion, and confirm gym access charges listed by Accor.
