#5 of 9 hotels in La Carolina by Axel's take. La Carolina is #2 of 5 places to stay in Quito. The best hotels in La Carolina, ranked · Where to stay in Quito
Axel's take: 8.5/10
A comfortable modern-Quito base, stronger on breakfast and location than flawless luxury. A traditional five-star business hotel near La Carolina Park, scored for what it is.
Dann Carlton Quito is a traditional five-star business hotel near La Carolina Park, and we'd pick it for generous rooms, convenient dining and a substantial breakfast rather than cutting-edge luxury. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Restaurants, shopping and the park are nearby, while the well-equipped gym, indoor pool and sauna give it more substance than a business-only stopover.
The polish isn't uniform: some recent guests describe dated rooms and bathrooms, and service occasionally misses the small details expected at five stars. Noise beneath the gym also appears in guest reports, so light sleepers should request a room away from it. It's a strong choice for business trips or a comfortable sightseeing base; we'd skip it if you want boutique character or the historic center outside your door.
-
Best for: Business travelers; Travelers who prioritize breakfast and fitness facilities; Visitors who prefer modern Quito
-

-

-
Service: Staff earn consistent praise, though occasional follow-through and amenity-replenishment lapses weaken the luxury feel.
-
Amenities: Buffet breakfast, indoor pool, substantial gym, sauna and several dining options; the pool is shared with fitness users.
-
Fees and surprises: Parking is free; airport transfers and pets cost extra. Breakfast-room renovation was reported in May 2026; completion is unconfirmed.
