#4 of 4 hotels in González Suárez & Guápulo by Axel's take. González Suárez & Guápulo is #5 of 5 places to stay in Quito. The best hotels in González Suárez & Guápulo, ranked · Where to stay in Quito

Axel's take: 2.0/10

We'd skip this listing until reopening and usable rooms are independently confirmed. a listed 3-star city hotel with serious doubts about whether it is operating, scored for what it is.

Listed as a simple 3-star hotel in Quito's González Suárez area, this is currently a booking risk rather than a dependable budget choice. Older Tripadvisor reviews praise the location and sometimes the spacious rooms, but those accounts cannot establish what travelers will find now. Expedia currently shows five reviews averaging 2.0 out of 10.

The decisive concern is repeated reports that the hotel no longer exists, including reviews dated March 12, March 30 and September 27, 2026. Another August 2026 reviewer reports being charged despite a room being under renovation and never occupied. Hotels.com also carries the March closure reports; these overlap with Expedia rather than providing independent corroboration. Closure is not officially confirmed, but we'd choose elsewhere unless reopening and an available room can be independently verified.

  • Best for: No current recommendation; Reconsider only after verified reopening

  • Watch out for: Repeated 2026 reports that the hotel no longer exists; Reported unusable room during renovation; No elevator listed

  • Location: Older guests praise the González Suárez location and nearby dining.

  • Rooms: Historic praise for spacious rooms is outweighed by recent availability concerns.

  • Cleanliness: Too little reliable current stay evidence to judge housekeeping.

  • Service: Recent reports raise serious doubts about reservations being fulfilled.

  • Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi and reception remain advertised, not verified as operating.

  • Fees and surprises: An August 2026 guest reports being charged for an unoccupied room under renovation.
