Axel's take: 7.5/10

Good family fun for the money, but not a polished five-star escape. a large, value-focused beachfront all-inclusive for families, scored for what it is.

Sunscape Coco is a sprawling, value-focused family all-inclusive in Cabeza de Toro, now under Hyatt’s Sunscape brand rather than Be Live. We'd choose it for pool time, children's activities and lively entertainment—not five-star luxury. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise individual staff members, the pools and nightly shows. With six pools and plenty of dining choices, it delivers a busy resort holiday with good variety for the money.

The compromises are consistency and beach conditions. Recent guests describe everything from spotless, comfortable rooms to dated fittings, musty smells and slow maintenance responses. Food gets mixed verdicts, and restaurant queues recur in reviews. Seaweed and discolored water have also disappointed recent beachgoers. Sun Club adds exclusive areas and upgraded amenities, but costs extra. We'd skip it for a food-led getaway, reliably clear-water swimming or quiet, polished service.

• Best for: value-minded families; pool-focused vacations; travelers who enjoy organized entertainment

• Watch out for: variable beach water and seaweed; uneven room condition and maintenance; mixed food quality and restaurant queues

• Location: Beachfront in Cabeza de Toro, roughly 20 minutes from Punta Cana airport.

• Rooms: Many room types, including swim-outs; comfort and upkeep vary between guest reports.

• Cleanliness: Strong recent Expedia praise, balanced by recurring housekeeping and mustiness complaints elsewhere.

• Service: Friendly staff are a highlight; check-in and problem resolution can be slow.

• Amenities: Six pools, children's activities, entertainment, gym and multiple restaurants; some areas require Sun Club.

• Fees and surprises: Sun Club privileges cost extra; confirm exactly which facilities and services your room category includes.
