#4 of 9 hotels in Karlín by Axel's take. Karlín is #5 of 9 places to stay in Prague. The best hotels in Karlín, ranked · Where to stay in Prague

Axel's take: 8.6/10

A comfortable Karlín base with excellent transport links, rather than Old Town atmosphere. a modern 4-star business hotel in Karlín, scored for what it is.

Hotel Royal Prague is a modern 4-star business hotel in Karlín, and we'd pick it for practical comfort rather than historic character. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the clean, generously sized rooms, helpful staff and easy access to Křižíkova metro and trams. Breakfast usually earns good feedback for its variety. It's a strong base if you prefer staying outside the tourist core without making sightseeing awkward.

The trade-offs are mostly manageable: breakfast can get crowded, while some guests report uncomfortable bedding or frustrating temperature controls. The gym is free, but sauna access and garage parking cost extra; reserve parking ahead because spaces are limited and tight. We'd skip it if stepping straight into Old Town matters more than room space and transport convenience.

  • Best for: city-break travelers happy using public transport; business travelers in Karlín; families wanting connecting rooms

  • Watch out for: crowded breakfast periods; occasional bedding and temperature-control complaints; paid sauna and tight, limited parking

  • Location: Near Křižíkova metro and trams; convenient for sightseeing, but outside the historic core.

  • Rooms: Modern and generally spacious; comfort reviews are strong, with some bedding and climate-control complaints.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com and Expedia, despite occasional housekeeping lapses.

  • Service: Usually helpful and courteous, though some Tripadvisor guests describe uneven reception service.

  • Amenities: Buffet breakfast, lobby bar, free gym and paid sauna; connecting rooms are available.

  • Fees and surprises: Garage parking and sauna access cost extra; reserve the limited garage spaces ahead. Expedia lists cashless payment.
