#9 of 9 hotels in New Town & Wenceslas Square by Axel's take. New Town & Wenceslas Square is #3 of 9 places to stay in Prague. The best hotels in New Town & Wenceslas Square, ranked · Where to stay in Prague

Axel's take: 7.4/10

A practical central base with useful kitchenettes, but little polish. a budget 3-star aparthotel in Prague’s New Town, scored for what it is.

Hotel PurPur is a budget 3-star aparthotel in Prague’s New Town, and we’d pick it for practical sightseeing rather than a special occasion. Its strongest asset is the location: Wenceslas Square, restaurants and tram stops are an easy walk away. Booking.com and Hotels.com guests repeatedly praise the value, while recent reviews often describe clean, generously sized rooms and helpful staff. Some rooms have kitchenettes, useful for simple meals.

The trade-off is an aging property with uneven bathroom upkeep; guests on several sites mention shower problems. Don’t count on breakfast: the official website advertises it, but recent Tripadvisor guests say it isn’t served. Expect a refundable deposit, and confirm its terms because published policies differ. It’s a sensible short-stay option for budget-minded travelers; we’d skip it for a polished romantic break or full hotel dining.

  • Best for: budget-minded city explorers; solo travelers on short stays; travelers wanting a kitchenette

  • Watch out for: dated interiors and shower issues; conflicting breakfast information; refundable deposit terms vary by source

  • Location: Walkable New Town base near Wenceslas Square, restaurants and tram connections.

  • Rooms: Often spacious for the class; kitchenettes in some rooms, but dated finishes and shower complaints.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive recent feedback, though not uniformly praised.

  • Service: Helpful staff earn frequent praise; some Tripadvisor guests describe a less welcoming reception.

  • Amenities: Wi-Fi, elevator and luggage storage; confirm a kitchenette and plan breakfast elsewhere.

  • Fees and surprises: Refundable deposit required; confirm terms, and reserve limited paid parking ahead.
