#4 of 9 hotels in Boavista by Axel's take. Boavista is #7 of 8 places to stay in Porto. The best hotels in Boavista, ranked · Where to stay in Porto

Axel's take: 8.5/10

A comfortable, well-run base if you don’t need the old town outside your door. a practical 4-star hotel in Porto’s Boavista district, scored for what it is.

HF Ipanema Porto is a practical 4-star in Boavista, and we’d choose it for comfort and consistency rather than historic character. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; breakfast earns plenty of approval too. Family room options and a tenth-floor gym make it a useful base for families and business travelers.

The main compromise is location: expect roughly 25–30 minutes on foot to central sights, with an uphill return, or use nearby buses and taxis. Parking costs extra, and breakfast isn’t included in every booking. Guests reported nearby construction in September 2025 and renovation disruption in March 2026; whether either continues is unconfirmed, so light sleepers should check before booking. We’d skip it if doorstep sightseeing is the priority.

  • Best for: families wanting room options; business travelers in Boavista; sightseers comfortable using transport

  • Watch out for: outside the historic core; paid parking and optional breakfast; confirm construction status before booking

  • Location: Near Bom Sucesso Market and Casa da Música; central sightseeing requires a walk or transport.

  • Rooms: Generally spacious and comfortable, with refurbished accommodation and several family configurations.

  • Cleanliness: A clear strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Helpful, professional staff dominate the feedback, despite occasional complaints about delays.

  • Amenities: Gym, free Wi-Fi, breakfast buffet, bar, dining and private parking; not a beachfront hotel.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking and some breakfast bookings cost extra; city tax applies, and earlier construction reports remain unresolved.
