Axel's take: 7.1/10

Good budget basics, but neighborhood concerns and uneven soundproofing limit its appeal. a no-frills 2-star motel off I-10 in west Phoenix, scored for what it is.

This is a no-frills 2-star motel off I-10, not a downtown hotel. We'd consider it for a short, car-based stay: recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, updated rooms and helpful staff, with similar positives appearing on Tripadvisor and Google reviews. Free parking, breakfast, and in-room microwaves and refrigerators make it practical for the price. The overall picture is decent rather than consistently impressive.

The main compromises are the surroundings and noise. Guests across several sites describe feeling uncomfortable around the property, although others report no trouble. Highway noise, thin walls, and noisy air conditioners recur, while breakfast is basic and some recent stays reveal maintenance misses. We'd skip it for light sleepers or anyone wanting a comfortable neighborhood for evening walks; budget-minded drivers have a stronger case.

• Best for: budget-minded drivers; short freeway stopovers; travelers prioritizing clean basics

• Watch out for: recurring concerns about the surrounding area; highway noise and thin walls; basic breakfast and occasional maintenance misses

• Location: Convenient freeway access west of downtown; guests differ sharply on comfort with the surrounding neighborhood.

• Rooms: Exterior-entry rooms with microwaves and refrigerators; updates earn praise, but soundproofing and maintenance vary.

• Cleanliness: Clean rooms are a recurring strength in recent reviews, though not every stay meets that standard.

• Service: Helpful, friendly management earns frequent praise; occasional check-in problems appear.

• Amenities: Free WiFi, continental breakfast, parking, laundry facilities, an outdoor pool, and a hot tub; no elevator.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast are included; rollaway beds cost extra, and the property does not accept cash.
