Axel's take: 7.3/10

A friendly neighborhood base, but cramped rooms and lift problems temper its four-star appeal. a compact, independently run 4-star overlooking a park in Paris’s 11th arrondissement, scored for what it is.

Gardette Park is a small four-star boutique hotel opposite Square Maurice Gardette, better suited to neighborhood exploring than luxury expectations. We'd consider it for the surrounding cafés, restaurants and manageable walk to the Métro. Booking.com and Expedia guests generally praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and cleanliness. A confirmed park-facing room is worth prioritizing; some other rooms overlook walls or service areas.

The compromises are real: classic doubles measure just 12 square meters, soundproofing draws repeated criticism, and breakfast divides opinion rather than consistently meeting four-star expectations. Multiple October 2026 Google guest reviews describe an out-of-service elevator; older Expedia feedback also records breakdowns, but a repair could not be confirmed. Check directly before arrival. We'd skip it if stairs are difficult, you travel with bulky luggage, or you want spacious rooms and polished full-service comfort.

• Best for: couples traveling light; repeat Paris visitors; café and restaurant exploring

• Watch out for: elevator outages reported; confirm repairs; very small classic rooms; variable soundproofing and breakfast

• Location: Opposite Square Maurice Gardette, near neighborhood dining and several Métro options rather than the main monuments.

• Rooms: Classic doubles are 12 square meters; book the view explicitly, as not every room faces the park.

• Cleanliness: Broadly strong guest ratings, despite some recent complaints about carpets, odors and upkeep.

• Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are one of the most consistent positives across booking sites.

• Amenities: Air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour reception and breakfast; elevator operation needs checking.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may cost extra depending on the booking; no on-site parking, and current lift repairs remain unconfirmed.
