Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong Louvre base with genuine art credentials and compact, comfortable rooms. an art-focused 4-star boutique hotel near the Louvre, scored for what it is.

Drawing Hôtel is a contemporary 4-star boutique hotel that earns its place on a museum-focused shortlist. The Louvre and Palais-Royal are a short walk away, while the hotel's own Drawing Lab gives the art theme substance. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Booking.com's strong overall rating backs up that picture. We'd pick it for a central Paris stay with more personality than a standard chain hotel.

The main compromise is space: the hotel lists Classic doubles at 15–17 square meters, and guests on several sites flag compact rooms. Some also mention limited storage or missing in-room refrigerators, so check your category rather than assuming every four-star convenience. Breakfast costs extra unless included. We'd skip the entry-level rooms for a long, luggage-heavy stay, but they're a sensible base for days spent exploring.

• Best for: museum-focused city breaks; couples who prioritize location; art and design enthusiasts

• Watch out for: compact entry-level rooms; limited storage and refrigerators vary by category; breakfast may cost extra

• Location: Excellent for walking to the Louvre, Palais-Royal, restaurants and two nearby metro stations.

• Rooms: Modern and comfortable; Classic doubles are 15–17 square meters, with larger categories available.

• Cleanliness: A clear strength across aggregate ratings and recent guest feedback, despite occasional housekeeping lapses.

• Service: Recent reviews consistently praise welcoming, helpful reception staff.

• Amenities: Drawing Lab art center, D-bar, patio and rooftop terrace; rooms include air conditioning and Nespresso.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast may be extra; Expedia lists city tax and a damage deposit, so confirm your booking terms.
