Axel's take: 8.2/10

A practical Paris base with proper kitchenettes and strong neighborhood appeal. a renovated 4-star aparthotel in the lively 11th arrondissement, scored for what it is.

Citadines République Paris is now a 4-star aparthotel, rather than the older three-star listing, following renovations completed in late 2025. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want a kitchenette and neighborhood restaurants rather than full-service hotel frills. Recent Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds, helpful reception staff and easy access to nearby metro stations.

The main compromise is the serviced-apartment setup: included housekeeping is weekly, not daily, and breakfast and parking cost extra. Studios suit two; the one-bedroom apartments accommodate four, but guests with substantial luggage may find them tight. We’d choose it for a longer, independent stay with some meals at home. Skip it if you want daily pampering or major sights on your doorstep.

• Best for: couples who like self-catering; families traveling light; longer neighborhood-based stays

• Watch out for: weekly rather than daily housekeeping; breakfast and parking cost extra; limited luggage space for four

• Location: Near Parmentier metro, with plentiful cafés, restaurants and groceries; expect transit trips to major sights.

• Rooms: Renovated, air-conditioned studios and apartments with equipped kitchenettes; four-person units use a sofa bed.

• Cleanliness: Recent reviews across several sites are consistently positive about room cleanliness.

• Service: Helpful reception staff earn repeated praise; the front desk operates around the clock.

• Amenities: Kitchenettes, Wi-Fi, a terrace and optional breakfast support an independent stay.

• Fees and surprises: Extra cleaning, breakfast, parking and pets carry charges; the owner confirms renovations finished in late 2025.
