Axel's take: 7.0/10

A useful budget base, but room consistency and nighttime noise are the compromises. a no-frills 2-star motel in south Palm Springs, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star motel is a reasonable Palm Springs base if you're prioritizing value over polish. Its south-side location puts coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance, with downtown a short drive away. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff and clean, comfortable rooms; free parking and Wi-Fi keep the basics straightforward. We'd consider it for a short, inexpensive stay rather than a hotel-centered vacation.

The catch is consistency. Tripadvisor and Booking.com feedback also flags uneven cleaning, lingering smoke smells and noise from neighboring rooms or nighttime activity. Rooms are basic, and refrigerators and microwaves depend on the category booked. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. It's a workable budget choice, but we'd skip it if dependable quiet and spotless housekeeping matter more than saving money.

  • Best for: budget-conscious short stays; road-trippers with a car; travelers with pets

  • Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and occasional smoke odors; neighbor and nighttime noise; sparse room amenities

  • Location: South Palm Springs, near dining and coffee shops; downtown is a short drive away.

  • Rooms: Simple rooms; select categories include refrigerators or microwaves, and there is no elevator.

  • Cleanliness: Many recent guests praise clean rooms, but dirty floors and occasional insect reports make consistency a concern.

  • Service: Helpful staff earn repeated recent praise, although some guests report poor problem handling.

  • Amenities: The official site lists an outdoor pool and coin laundry; Expedia confirms free Wi-Fi and lobby coffee.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is free; Motel 6 allows up to two well-behaved pets free, subject to its pet rules.
