Axel's take: 8.3/10
A strong waterfront base, with standout breakfast and compact standard rooms. a practical 4-star business hotel beside Aker Brygge, scored for what it is.
Thon Hotel Vika Atrium is a practical 4-star business hotel beside Aker Brygge, and a strong pick for exploring Oslo without paying for luxury trimmings. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the generous breakfast, helpful staff and walkable location near museums, restaurants and transport. Recent Expedia reviews also reinforce the generally good cleanliness: this is a comfortable sightseeing base rather than a destination hotel.
Room choice matters. Standard doubles start at around 16 square metres, and Queen rooms have a narrow double bed; some Tripadvisor guests also report stuffiness, tired finishes or noise between rooms. Extensive building renovations disrupted stays in 2025 and 2026, although the current official page no longer carries a construction warning. Parking costs extra. We'd choose it for convenience and breakfast, but skip the entry-level rooms if space or a special-occasion atmosphere matters.
