#4 of 9 hotels in Kissimmee Maingate West by Axel's take. Kissimmee Maingate West is #7 of 12 places to stay in Orlando. The best hotels in Kissimmee Maingate West, ranked · Where to stay in Orlando

Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong family base near Disney, with generous space but uneven room upkeep. A mid-range timeshare resort near Disney with hotel rooms and self-catering villas, scored for what it is.

Silver Lake is a mid-range timeshare resort in Kissimmee, and a strong pick for families who prioritize space and pool time over polished interiors. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the roomy villas, pools and convenient Disney location. Three heated outdoor pools, children's activities and a casual poolside grill give it more staying power than a basic park hotel. Choose carefully: the hotel-style king rooms are not the same proposition as the kitchen-equipped villas.

The trade-off is consistency. Reviews describe some dated furnishings, occasional cleaning misses and noise from adjoining rooms or road-facing units, although overall cleanliness ratings remain strong. Timeshare invitations during the parking-pass process are another recurring irritation. We'd choose it for a self-catering family trip, but skip it for guaranteed quiet or full-service polish. Confirm resort fees and deposit terms before arrival; checkout is an early 10 a.m.

Best for: Families visiting Disney; Self-catering villa stays; Travelers wanting pool days between parks
Watch out for: Timeshare invitations at the parking-pass desk; Variable room condition and soundproofing; Early 10 a.m. checkout
Location: Convenient for Disney, especially Animal Kingdom; plan on driving or rideshares to the parks.
Rooms: Hotel rooms and larger villas differ substantially; confirm the kitchen, layout and capacity before booking.
Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings, tempered by recurring reports of missed details, dirty floors or musty rooms.
Service: Recent Expedia guests often praise helpful staff; the timeshare sales process draws separate complaints.
Amenities: Three heated outdoor pools, hot tub, gym, sauna, sports courts, children's activities and Cabana Bar & Grill.
Fees and surprises: A security deposit is required; published deposit terms differ, and recent guests report resort fees.
