Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical park-trip base, with dated rooms and uneven housekeeping. A budget 3-star hotel on International Drive, scored for what it is.

Rosen Inn International is a budget 3-star on International Drive, and we'd choose it for a park-heavy trip rather than a hotel-centered vacation. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the handy location, friendly staff and value, with restaurants within walking distance. In-room microwaves and mini-fridges, two outdoor pools and scheduled free Universal shuttles make it a useful family base. There's no resort fee, either.

The compromise is consistency. Recent Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly describe tired furnishings and missed housekeeping, with similar cleaning-service complaints appearing on Expedia despite plenty of positive cleanliness reports. Road-facing rooms can also be noisy. Parking costs extra, and breakfast isn't automatically included. It's good for travelers who prioritize convenience over polish; we'd skip it if fresh interiors, quiet surroundings or dependable daily room servicing are essential.

• Best for: Budget-conscious theme-park visitors; Families wanting practical room amenities; Travelers who like nearby restaurants

• Watch out for: Dated furnishings and uneven housekeeping; Traffic noise in road-facing rooms; Paid parking; breakfast not automatically included

• Location: Walkable International Drive dining and convenient Universal access; not an on-site theme-park hotel.

• Rooms: Older furnishings, with microwaves, mini-fridges and coffee makers; room position affects noise.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive overall ratings, but recurring recent reports of missed or inadequate housekeeping.

• Service: Friendly staff earn frequent praise; housekeeping follow-through is less reliable.

• Amenities: Two outdoor pools, children's pool, gym, playground, dining and scheduled free Universal shuttles.

• Fees and surprises: No resort fee; self-parking is charged, and breakfast inclusion depends on the booking.
