Axel's take: 8.2/10

A strong SeaWorld base with roomy accommodation, family-friendly pools and substantial extra fees. A large 4-star family and convention resort across from SeaWorld, scored for what it is.

This large 4-star family and convention resort is a strong pick if SeaWorld anchors your trip. You can walk to the park, and the outdoor pool, children's water slides and splash area give families reasons to stay on-site between outings. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the unusually spacious rooms, comfortable beds and friendly staff. The soaring atrium and multiple dining options add convenience, though this is a busy resort rather than an intimate retreat.

The main compromises are aging rooms and the extras. Tripadvisor guests repeatedly flag dated bathrooms, occasional maintenance problems and uneven housekeeping, although cleanliness feedback overall remains positive. A mandatory resort fee and separate parking charges weaken the value, particularly if you barely use the facilities. We'd skip it for a quiet couples' escape or if freshly updated rooms matter more than space and SeaWorld access.

• Best for: Families visiting SeaWorld; Travelers wanting spacious rooms; Conference attendees bringing children

• Watch out for: Mandatory resort fee and separate parking charges; Dated bathrooms and occasional maintenance issues; Busy atmosphere during group events

• Location: Across from SeaWorld; other major parks generally require a ride or scheduled shuttle.

• Rooms: Generously sized and generally comfortable, but dated bathrooms and wear recur in guest feedback.

• Cleanliness: Mostly praised, with some housekeeping lapses rather than a consistently poor pattern.

• Service: Friendly staff earn frequent praise; problem resolution is less consistent.

• Amenities: Outdoor pool, children's water-play areas and slides, gym, multiple restaurants and scheduled park shuttles.

• Fees and surprises: Mandatory resort fee, paid parking and breakfast usually extra; no hotel-provided airport shuttle.
