Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong family pick for spacious villas and pool days, with parking charges to factor in. a family-focused Marriott Vacation Club villa resort, scored for what it is.

Marriott’s Harbour Lake is a family-focused vacation-ownership resort, not a full-service luxury hotel. It’s a strong pick for families who want room to spread out and worthwhile days away from the parks. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean accommodation, friendly staff and children’s activities. The pirate-themed pools, waterslide and mini-golf are the draw; one- and two-bedroom villas add full kitchens and laundry, while smaller guest rooms have kitchenettes.

The compromises are paid parking, limited casual dining and a setting better suited to driving than exploring on foot. Some guests report highway noise, so light sleepers should request accommodation away from the road. Marriott also announces villa refurbishment January 2–February 15, 2027, with daytime construction noise expected. We’d skip it for an adults-focused escape, but it delivers very well as a practical family base.

• Best for: families with younger children; self-catering theme-park trips; longer stays with pool days

• Watch out for: daily parking charges; highway noise in some buildings; villa refurbishment January 2–February 15, 2027

• Location: Convenient for SeaWorld and driving to other parks; less suited to a car-free stay.

• Rooms: Villas offer full kitchens and laundry; smaller guest rooms have kitchenettes, not equivalent facilities.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall: recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise cleanliness, supported by Booking.com’s high category rating.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive consistent praise; Marriott lists housekeeping every other day.

• Amenities: Two themed pool areas, waterslide, splash pad, mini-golf and family activities make staying on-site worthwhile.

• Fees and surprises: No resort fee, but parking costs extra; checkout is 10 a.m.; refurbishment will bring daytime noise in early 2027.
