Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong family resort worth choosing for pool days, not just park nights. a sprawling, full-service 4-star family resort near Disney, scored for what it is.

Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress is a sprawling 4-star resort near Disney that earns its keep when you leave time to enjoy it. The lagoon pool, waterfalls and waterslide are the main draw, backed by lake activities, bikes and several dining options. Recent Expedia guests consistently praise clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff; Tripadvisor feedback also favors the grounds and recreation. It’s a strong pick for families mixing theme parks with genuine resort days.

The grounds impress more consistently than the bedrooms: dated furnishings remain a recurring criticism, despite generally positive comfort reports. A daily resort fee and separate parking charges weaken the value if you’re barely on property. Guests on Expedia and Reddit also flag restrictive park-shuttle schedules, so check departures before relying on them. We’d skip it for an all-day, every-day park trip or if freshly updated rooms are your priority.

• Best for: families mixing parks with pool days; active resort vacations; Disney visitors wanting an off-site resort

• Watch out for: some dated room furnishings; daily resort fee and paid parking; limited park-shuttle schedules

• Location: Convenient for Disney by vehicle; park visits still require transportation.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, but recurring feedback says furnishings could use a refresh.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall cleanliness feedback, especially in recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff draw consistent praise; occasional restaurant-service delays surface.

• Amenities: Lagoon pool, waterslide, lake activities, bikes, fitness center and multiple restaurants.

• Fees and surprises: Daily resort fee; parking and usually breakfast cost extra, and self-parking can mean a long walk.
