Axel's take: 8.9/10

A strong airport stopover, with clean rooms, helpful staff and easy dining nearby. a reliable 3-star airport hotel with breakfast and a free shuttle, scored for what it is.

This 3-star Hampton is a strong pick for an overnight near Orlando International Airport. Recent Expedia, Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and restaurants within walking distance. Free hot breakfast and the complimentary airport shuttle cover the essentials, while an outdoor pool, gym and lobby bar make it more useful than a bare-bones stopover. We'd choose it for flight convenience rather than a theme-park vacation.

The main catch is paid parking: Hilton's current policy contradicts older reviews mentioning free spaces. Room-condition feedback is less uniform, with some guests finding the decor dated and air-conditioning noisy. Shuttle feedback is mostly positive, but pickup instructions and waits have caused occasional frustration; confirm the correct Gateway Village shuttle before boarding. Skip it if you want a resort atmosphere or to stay close to the parks.

• Best for: overnights before or after flights; families wanting breakfast included; travelers without a rental car

• Watch out for: paid on-site parking; occasional noisy air-conditioning; confirm airport pickup instructions

• Location: Convenient for MCO, with several restaurants walkable; better for airport stays than park-focused trips.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and spacious; opinions on decor vary, with occasional noisy air-conditioning reports.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Expedia, Tripadvisor and Trip.com reviews.

• Service: Staff receive strong praise; airport pickup communication has occasionally disappointed.

• Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and airport shuttle; outdoor pool, fitness center and lobby bar.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is charged despite older free-parking reviews; pets incur a nonrefundable fee.
