Axel's take: 7.4/10

Friendly staff make this a practical downtown base, but dated rooms and noise limit its appeal. An older full-service business hotel on downtown Orlando’s northern edge, scored for what it is.

This older full-service business hotel on downtown Orlando’s northern edge is a good pick for a short work trip or an event at the Kia Center, provided you’re happy taking a ride rather than walking everywhere. Expedia and Booking.com guests generally praise the staff and room cleanliness. The outdoor sky-deck pool, restaurant, coffee counter and 24-hour gym give it useful substance beyond a place to sleep.

The catch is consistency. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly describe dated rooms, while Tripadvisor and Trip.com guests flag intrusive highway or air-conditioning noise. Ask for a room away from I-4, though that won’t guarantee silence. Parking costs extra, and breakfast is not automatically included. We’d choose it for a practical city stay, not a polished four-star experience; light sleepers and travelers wanting everything on their doorstep should look elsewhere.

• Best for: Short business trips; Kia Center eventgoers using rideshares; Travelers prioritizing friendly service over modern decor

• Watch out for: Highway and air-conditioning noise; Dated rooms and uneven upkeep; Paid parking and breakfast exclusions

• Location: Just off I-4 near Lake Ivanhoe; useful for downtown visits, but major venues are a ride away.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable, but dated decor and recurring noise complaints weaken the experience.

• Cleanliness: Mostly positive across major sites, with occasional housekeeping lapses rather than a dominant cleanliness problem.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the strongest recurring positive, although problem handling is not uniformly reliable.

• Amenities: Outdoor sky-deck pool, 24-hour gym, restaurant and bar, coffee counter and free Wi-Fi.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking and valet cost extra; check breakfast inclusion and expect an incidental deposit.
