Axel's take: 9.0/10

Standout staff and clean, comfortable rooms make this a strong downtown choice. a service-focused 3-star Marriott on downtown Orlando’s northern edge, scored for what it is.

Courtyard Orlando Downtown is a 3-star business hotel that gets the essentials unusually right. We'd choose it for downtown work trips or event weekends: Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise genuinely helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Rooms are generously sized for the class, and the heated outdoor pool, gym and Bistro make it more useful than a basic overnight stop.

The trade-offs are practical rather than deal-breaking. Parking and breakfast cost extra, and some guests report traffic noise, so light sleepers should request a quieter room. Marriott lists housekeeping every other day. The northern downtown location suits city visits better than theme-park holidays; we'd skip it if Disney or Universal is the main purpose of the trip.

• Best for: downtown business travelers; concert and sports weekends; travelers prioritizing cleanliness and helpful staff

• Watch out for: parking and breakfast cost extra; traffic noise in some rooms; housekeeping every other day

• Location: Northern edge of downtown, with nearby restaurants; better for city business and events than theme parks.

• Rooms: Guests praise spacious, comfortable rooms; traffic noise depends on room position.

• Cleanliness: Consistently strong guest feedback across sites; scheduled housekeeping is every other day.

• Service: Helpful front-desk and Bistro staff are the clearest recurring strengths.

• Amenities: Heated outdoor pool, 24-hour gym, Bistro restaurant and bar, plus a complimentary local shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking and breakfast are extra; no airport shuttle, and the property is smoke-free.
