Axel's take: 7.6/10

Good family fun, but the rooms are less convincing than the water park. a budget-friendly, mid-range family hotel with an on-site water park, scored for what it is.

CoCo Key is a budget-friendly, mid-range family hotel on International Drive, best chosen for its water park rather than polished rooms. We'd consider it for families who will actually use the slides, splash areas and arcade. Booking.com and Expedia both show broadly positive guest ratings, and recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and the children's entertainment. Nearby restaurants and scheduled theme-park shuttles add practical appeal.

The trade-off is inconsistent room condition: Tripadvisor guests describe maintenance problems, uneven housekeeping and noise around the pools. Request a room away from the action if sleep matters. May 2026 guests also reported renovation construction; confirm whether work affects your building. Resort and parking fees normally apply, and water-park hours depend on weather. We'd skip it for a quiet couples' break or if you'll spend every day elsewhere.

• Best for: families who will use the water park; children who enjoy slides and splash areas; travelers wanting International Drive conveniences

• Watch out for: pool-area noise and uneven room condition; resort and parking fees; confirm renovation status and water-park hours

• Location: Convenient International Drive base for restaurants and attractions; scheduled Universal and Disney shuttles.

• Rooms: Room condition varies; request a quieter location and confirm the specific room category.

• Cleanliness: Broadly positive aggregate scores, but Tripadvisor reports show housekeeping is not consistently reliable.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though problem resolution receives some criticism.

• Amenities: Partly canopy-covered water park, pools, arcade, dining and fitness center; weather can interrupt water-park operations.

• Fees and surprises: Resort and parking fees normally apply; the official FAQ lists waivers for stays of seven nights or more. May 2026 guests reported renovation construction; current status is unconfirmed.
