Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong downtown event base with skyline views, but highway noise is the catch. a modern, select-service downtown high-rise hotel, scored for what it is.

This is a modern, select-service high-rise hotel, not a bare-bones budget stay. It's a strong pick for downtown business trips or events at the Kia Center and Dr. Phillips Center, both within walking distance. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and city views. The 18th-floor AC Sky Bar gives it more personality than a straightforward business hotel.

The main compromise is soundproofing: highway noise recurs across review sites, including a 2026 Tripadvisor stay mentioning a provided white-noise machine. Parking and breakfast cost extra, and there's no pool. Nearby Church Street Improvements construction is scheduled through the second quarter of 2027, so allow for road closures and detours. We'd skip it if quiet sleep or pool time matters more than downtown convenience.

• Best for: Kia Center concerts and games; downtown business trips; couples wanting skyline drinks

• Watch out for: Highway noise in rooms; Extra charges for parking and breakfast; no pool; Nearby Church Street construction and detours

• Location: Walkable to the Kia Center, Dr. Phillips Center and Church Street SunRail station.

• Rooms: Modern, comfortable rooms with skyline views; highway soundproofing is the recurring weakness.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength, with repeated recent praise for clean rooms and well-kept interiors.

• Service: Recent guests generally describe friendly, helpful staff.

• Amenities: AC Sky Bar, breakfast restaurant and fitness center; no swimming pool or airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and breakfast are extra; nearby Church Street roadwork is scheduled through the second quarter of 2027.
