Hotels in Oaxaca CityA simple, family-oriented hotel and bungalow complex outside central Oaxaca
7.0/10
Useful family space and parking, but tired villas make this a cautious pick.
Villas del Sol is a simple hotel-and-bungalow complex in Santa Rosa, away from Oaxaca’s historic center. It makes most sense for families driving around the region: gardens, an outdoor pool, a playground and free parking give it practical appeal. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests often praise helpful staff, comfortable accommodation and the restaurant. We'd consider it for space and convenience rather than polished rooms.
The main drawback is inconsistent upkeep, particularly in the villas. Reviews from 2026 on both sites describe worn furniture and maintenance problems; guests also report kitchens without basic utensils. Cleanliness earns plenty of praise, but some Tripadvisor reports describe serious lapses. Breakfast costs extra unless included in your booking. We'd skip it for a walkable city break or if reliably fresh, well-equipped accommodation matters more than family space.
