Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong French Quarter base with spacious suites and consistently praised staff. a renovated, suite-friendly mid-range chain hotel in the French Quarter, scored for what it is.

This mid-range Courtyard is a strong pick for exploring the French Quarter without sleeping directly on Bourbon Street. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, friendly staff and a location convenient for restaurants and Canal Street streetcars. Renovations completed before its March 2025 ownership change refreshed rooms and public spaces. The two-king suites are particularly useful for friends or families sharing, with a sliding partition providing some privacy.

The trade-offs are mostly practical: breakfast costs extra, valet parking is expensive, and access to the neighboring Ritz-Carlton’s pool and spa carries a separate fee. Guests often find it surprisingly quiet for the location, though silence isn’t guaranteed. We’d choose it for comfortable, straightforward sightseeing stays; skip it if you want a pool included or a hotel with more distinctive local character.

• Best for: friends sharing a two-king suite; families exploring the French Quarter; sightseers traveling without a car

• Watch out for: expensive valet parking; breakfast costs extra; Ritz-Carlton pool and spa access costs extra

• Location: Walkable French Quarter base near Bourbon Street, restaurants and Canal Street streetcars.

• Rooms: Renovated, spacious accommodation; two-king suites offer a useful sliding partition.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall praise across recent Expedia and Tripadvisor reviews, supported by Booking.com’s cleanliness rating.

• Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk and valet staff are recurring strengths in recent reviews.

• Amenities: Fitness center, café, bar and convenience market; neighboring Ritz-Carlton pool and spa access is paid.

• Fees and surprises: Budget for breakfast and valet parking; pets incur nightly and cleaning fees.
