Axel's take: 8.8/10

Stylish downtown luxury with standout staff, but bathroom privacy deserves a closer look. a nature-inspired luxury hotel in downtown Nashville, scored for what it is.

1 Hotel Nashville is a nature-inspired luxury hotel that makes a strong base for downtown without carrying Broadway’s party atmosphere into every space. We'd pick it for its earthy interiors, comfortable beds and easy walks to Bridgestone Arena, Music City Center and the honky-tonks. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise cleanliness and helpful staff; 1 Kitchen, Harriet’s rooftop lounge and Bamford spa give you reasons to stay in, too.

The biggest design compromise is bathroom privacy: guests on both sites flag layouts that can feel awkward when sharing with friends or family. There’s no pool, and the destination fee and separately charged valet parking are unwelcome extras at this level. Some Tripadvisor guests mention downtown noise, although others report quiet nights. It’s a strong choice for couples and design-minded travelers; we'd skip it if swimming or a fully private bathroom is essential.

• Best for: design-minded couples; downtown concerts and nightlife; wellness-focused city breaks

• Watch out for: limited bathroom privacy in some layouts; no swimming pool; destination fee and paid valet parking

• Location: Walkable downtown base near Broadway, Bridgestone Arena and Music City Center; occasional city-noise reports.

• Rooms: Earthy design and comfortable beds earn praise; check the exact bathroom layout before sharing.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength in recent reviews, supported by Expedia’s very high cleanliness rating.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff are a recurring highlight across Expedia and Tripadvisor.

• Amenities: Bamford spa, fitness center, 1 Kitchen and Harriet’s rooftop lounge; no pool.

• Fees and surprises: Nightly destination fee, paid valet and a daily incidental hold; breakfast usually costs extra.
