#5 of 9 hotels in Centro Storico by Axel's take. Centro Storico is #1 of 7 places to stay in Naples. The best hotels in Centro Storico, ranked · Where to stay in Naples

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A friendly, clean Naples base, provided you can live with the noise. a small independent 4-star in a historic central Naples building, scored for what it is.

Hotel Nunù is a small independent 4-star on the second floor of a historic building, better suited to sightseeing than a full-service luxury stay. It’s a strong pick for exploring central Naples on foot, with Università metro nearby. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise the cleanliness and helpful staff; breakfast, particularly the local pastries, also earns plenty of approval. Modern rooms and balconies add to its appeal.

The main compromise is soundproofing: recent reviews across sites mention traffic, corridor noise and reception conversations carrying into bedrooms. Request a room away from reception and the main road, though quiet isn’t guaranteed. The entrance is unconventional, and some bathrooms feel cramped. We’d choose it for a busy city break, but skip it if undisturbed sleep or extensive four-star facilities are priorities.

  • Best for: couples on sightseeing breaks; travelers exploring without a car; guests who value helpful staff

  • Watch out for: traffic and internal noise; second-floor entrance in a shared historic building; some cramped bathrooms

  • Location: Central Corso Umberto I location, close to Università metro and the historic center.

  • Rooms: Modern, air-conditioned rooms with balconies; sound insulation is the recurring weakness.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor feedback.

  • Service: Staff repeatedly earn praise for friendly assistance and arranging transport.

  • Amenities: Breakfast buffet, bar, free Wi-Fi and 24-hour reception; expect a compact city hotel.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax applies; valet parking, airport transfers and pets carry extra charges; Expedia lists 10 a.m. checkout.
