#4 of 9 hotels in Piazza Garibaldi & Central Station by Axel's take. Piazza Garibaldi & Central Station is #7 of 7 places to stay in Naples. The best hotels in Piazza Garibaldi & Central Station, ranked · Where to stay in Naples

Axel's take: 8.0/10

A strong station-side base, with welcoming staff and a less appealing neighborhood. A traditional, budget-friendly 3-star beside Napoli Centrale, scored for what it is.

Grand Hotel Europa is a traditional 3-star near Napoli Centrale, and we'd pick it for practical sightseeing or a rail stopover rather than a romantic Naples escape. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and easy station access; Booking.com's ratings reinforce those strengths. Breakfast generally earns good feedback, and the restaurant and lounge bar make this more useful than a basic overnight stop.

The trade-off is the setting: several guests find the surrounding station streets uninviting, although others report feeling comfortable. Rooms lean old-fashioned rather than polished, and nighttime noise can intrude. Recent guests on more than one site also flag missing fridges and kettles, so don't assume the catalog's minibar is provided. We'd skip it if quiet nights or an attractive neighborhood matter more than transport convenience.

  • Best for: Rail travelers and short stopovers; Budget-conscious sightseeing; Day trips using public transport

  • Watch out for: Uninviting station-area streets; Nighttime noise in some rooms; Don't assume a fridge or kettle

  • Location: A short walk from Centrale and Garibaldi metro; convenience outweighs neighborhood appeal.

  • Rooms: Traditional, air-conditioned rooms; family options available, but in-room extras are limited.

  • Cleanliness: Generally a strength across guest ratings and recent reviews, despite occasional exceptions.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are the most consistent point of praise.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, restaurant, lounge bar, breakfast and luggage storage; no on-site parking.

  • Fees and surprises: City tax is payable at the property; breakfast inclusion depends on your booking, and transfers cost extra.
